About the 3 Newest Postings

So the next three postings deal with an old cattle ranch that is no longer in use. The ranch family homestead the area at the turn of the century, 1800's to 1900's. In its prime of 1950's to 1980's the ranch held as many as 300 head of cattle (head is generally counted as pairs mother and calf )(hefer are considered one, a young cow of a year old not in breeding). Most of the stuff you see in these pictures have some relation to the ranchers work or life. My favorite photos I have taken are of forgotten commercialized items such as jars, childrens wagons, tools, luggage. I will eventually add photos through time but believe it or not we are utilizing some things such as dairy urns (holding water), the childs wagons (which are a bit barried and the photo I took of the became corrupted so I need to re-do) an old childs snow sled against the first cabin built. I will take this photo but we have junk in front of this house as its become our tool shed. Its kind of snowy around here so when it thaws out I can pull some crap away. In addition as we settle in and clean up the area I will come across more things. There is an old bailer (for hay) that I want to photograph but its a bit out there on the land in an area thats heavy and snow melt. This bailer was actually used last in the early 40's. There after the family began using modernized gas run equipment. I'll also show you photos of an old washing machine, pumps, etc.
Anyways I hope you enjoy the photos, some of them came out really cool with the lighting. Some are just cool in they're own right.
Oh photo below is antlers, hunting is a huge part of the culture. Not just for those coming from other states (considered sport or trophy hunting) but to the locals. Locals actually consume what they kill. Its just how life is here. Not to worry we have more than needed in deer and other animals. Deer populations are actually reaching levels to were predators are more oftenly seen not to mention a probable disease level (not current, by high levels can cause and epidemic if population is not controlled) As of now we have on average 30 deer living in our backyard, no joke.
